Acknowledging the timeless modernity that only authentically classic items manage to possess, Max Mara is launching a sartorial clothing project, with the canvassed jacket at its heart. The excellence of the tailoring, the attention to the cut, the use of a canvas lining, the hand stitching and the choice of an array of impeccable fabrics take the form of essential, versatile items with an understated charm. This vital concept manifests itself in the 345 minutes of work required: twice the amount of time it takes to produce a standard jacket.
This season, two new silhouettes are added to this meticulously researched collection of classics: an oversized jacket with longer proportions; and one with feminine volume that embraces the silhouette.
This timeless statement piece is endlessly versatile. It becomes a trusted companion - a pivotal piece in a statement look easily adapting to endless situations with a simple change of accessories.
For Fall-Winter 2024 the key fabrics are granité wool, cashmere, pure camel hair, vicuna, corduroy and a wool/silk blend of sensual lightness.
Colours are rooted in the classic tailoring palette: black and white, of course, but also neutrals such as beige, camel, grey and blue. And with the season’s new colours comes a flash of brightness: bougainvillea, burgundy, khaki and teal.
